The Employer

We are managing a search for one of Ireland’s leading Tier 1 Building and Civil Engineering Contractors. This organisation has an established reputation for delivering flagship, multi-million euro projects across the commercial, residential, and infrastructure sectors nationwide.

The Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and commercially-aware Site Manager to take the lead on a major project in the Cork region. You will be responsible for the successful execution of site operations from commencement through to handover, ensuring delivery is on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

This is a senior role requiring proven leadership in managing large project teams, multiple work packages, and extensive subcontractor resources.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage all daily site operations, ensuring work is carried out efficiently and in strict adherence to programme and budget.

  • Prioritise and enforce a robust safety culture on site, adhering to all relevant Irish health and safety regulations.

  • Manage, supervise, and coordinate all direct staff, subcontractors, and suppliers.

  • Oversee quality control, carry out site inspections, and ensure work aligns with design specifications and architectural standards.

  • Work closely with the Project Manager, Quantity Surveyors, and Design Teams to resolve technical and sequencing challenges swiftly.

  • Control plant, labour, and materials, optimising site resources effectively.

Candidate Profile
  • A Degree or Diploma in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline is essential.
  • A minimum of 5+ years’ experience as a Site Manager, with demonstrable experience working for a Tier 1 or large Main Contractor in Ireland or the UK.

  • Proven track record of successfully managing projects valued at €10 million+.

  • Up-to-date knowledge of Irish building regulations and relevant health & safety legislation (e.g., PSDP/PSCS duties).

  • Exceptional leadership, organisational, and communication skills.

  • Hold a valid Safe Pass and First Aid certification.
