BAM UK & Ireland is seeking a Site Engineer for a building project in Carlow, Ireland. You will set out works, relay information to foremen and subcontractors, and monitor progress on site.

The role requires a third-level Engineering degree and at least 2 years’ setting-out experience with a main contractor or similar. Strong health & safety knowledge and excellent communication are essential, along with proficiency in MS Office and project management tools.

Qualificações

• A third level qualification in Engineering.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in setting out or site engineering.
• Experience with a main contractor, subcontractor, surveying firm, or similar preferred.
• Good understanding of Health, Safety and Environmental regulations.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Project, and PowerPoint.

Responsabilidades

• Disseminate information from drawings and specs to teams.
• Test materials as directed by supervisor.
• Record daily activities in site diary.
• Report on work progress including subcontractors.
• Develop and train through work-based development programme.
• Maintain safety and report non-compliance.
• Build professional working relationships on site.
• Monitor setting out instruments and testing equipment.
• Aim to maximise profit through accurate work and minimal rework.
• Attend required meetings.

About The Role

We are looking for a Site Engineer to join our team on a building project in Carlow.

Making Possible

• Set out the works and ensure that foremen and operatives clearly understand the information provided.
• Disseminate information from drawings, specifications, etc. to foremen, operatives, subcontractors, so that they clearly understand what is required.
• Test materials as directed by your supervisor/line manager in accordance with the relevant specifications.
• Record all daily activities, relevant information and occurrences in your site diary.
• Record and report on work progress including that of subcontractors to your manager.
• Pursue, proactively your own development and training. (i.e. complete the work-based development programme in a timely manner).
• Conduct your work in a safe manner – correct and report those who do not .
• Develop and maintain professional working relationships with all personnel.
• Monitor and check setting out instruments and testing equipment.
• Maximise profit through your day-to-day actions: good self-management, accuracy in own work, elimination of re-work.
• Follow directions and attend meetings as required.
