• Knowledge of Stormwater Management, drainage design, and regulatory standards for developments.
• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Proficiency with setting-out instruments (GPS, total station, levels) and basic CAD or design software.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork abilities for working with crews and stakeholders.
• Understanding of health, safety and environmental regulations on sites; relevant safety certifications are beneficial.
• Full driving licence and flexibility to work across sites.

Role Description

The Site Civil Engineer will oversee day-to-day civil engineering activities on construction sites in Cavan, ensuring works are delivered safely, on time, and to specification. This full-time, on-site role includes setting out and surveying, coordinating groundworks operations, supervising subcontractors, and monitoring quality and compliance with design drawings and standards. The engineer will assist with planning and scheduling, manage site documentation, prepare progress reports, and support site management with technical solutions. The role also involves liaising with clients, consultants, and suppliers, resolving technical issues as they arise, and promoting best practices in health, safety, and environmental management.

Qualifications

• Civil engineering design skills, including experience interpreting drawings and specifications and applying Civil Engineering principles to groundworks and infrastructure projects.


• Background as a Civil Engineer, with practical site engineering experience and familiarity with typical construction methods and materials.


• Planning skills, including the ability to coordinate site activities, sequence works, and support project scheduling and resource allocation.


• Knowledge of Stormwater Management, drainage design, and associated regulatory standards relevant to residential and commercial developments.


• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.


• Proficiency with setting-out instruments (e.g., GPS, total station, levels) and basic CAD or design software is an advantage.


• Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively with site crews and project stakeholders.
