Shift Technician (Manufacturing)

We are recruiting a Shift Technician on behalf of our client, a manufacturing group based in Co. Kildare. This is a fantastic opportunity for a technically skilled individual with a background in high-volume manufacturing to join a fast-paced production environment.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Shift Supervisor to ensure smooth operations, machine performance and continuous improvement across the site.

Location: Leixlip, Co. Kildare
Salary: €40,000 – €55,000 DOE (including shift & Sunday premiums)
Shift Pattern: Four-cycle shifts (15 shifts per month, mix of days & nights, 12-hour shifts)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support Shift Supervisors with machine start-ups, shutdowns and troubleshooting to maximise up-time.
  • Carry out regular servicing and technical tasks to maintain peak machine and production performance.
  • Provide cover for the Shift Supervisor when required.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement projects and support new product introductions.
  • Uphold strict safety and housekeeping standards, ensuring all equipment and work areas are maintained to the highest level.
  • Ensure compliance with Quality, GMP and company policies.
  • Assist with onboarding and training new employees.
  • Communicate effectively across teams and departments to resolve issues quickly.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • A degree in a related field is required.
  • Previous experience in a similar position is required.
  • Knowledge of mechanical and electronic systems in high-volume manufacturing; hold a relevant qualification in one of those disciplines and/or have additional specialised training and industrial experience.
  • Strong communication, teamwork and organisational skills.
  • Flexibility is required due to shift schedules.
  • Comfortable using MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
