Job summary

Abbott Diabetes Care Kilkenny is seeking an Operations Shift Manager to lead safe, compliant, and efficient manufacturing on shift. You will drive performance, coach teams, and align resources with production plans.

Responsibilities include managing shift staffing, delivering targets, and ensuring quality and safety across operations. Applicants should have 5+ years in manufacturing leadership and experience in regulated environments.

Qualifications

NFQ Level 7 in Engineering, Science, or related field.
Minimum 5 years in a manufacturing leadership role.
Experience leading manufacturing shifts in high-volume environments.
Experience in regulated industries (Medical Devices, Pharmaceuticals, etc.).
Strong safety, quality, compliance, and continuous improvement knowledge.

Responsibilities

Lead and develop manufacturing teams to meet production targets and safety standards.
Act as site leader during shift hours, making timely operational decisions.
Monitor key metrics: safety, quality, delivery, productivity, cost.
Ensure compliance with GMP and quality management systems.
Drive Lean and MOS-based improvements to raise performance and reduce waste.
Collaborate with Supply Chain, Quality, Engineering, Maintenance and other teams.
