Job description

Our client, a leading manufacturer of high-quality stainless steel products based in County Mayo, is currently seeking a skilled Sheet Metal Worker / Fabricator to join their growing team. Specializing in the production of stainless steel solutions for the pharmaceutical, medical device, and food industries, our client is known for their precision engineering and commitment to excellence. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced sheet metal professional to work in a clean, precision-focused manufacturing environment supporting the highly regulated MedTech and food sectors.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Fabricate and assemble light gauge sheet metal products according to technical drawings and specifications.
• Cut, shape, and form sheet metal using a range of fabrication tools and equipment.
• Measure, mark, and lay out materials accurately for cutting and fabrication.
• Prepare and cut box section frames to precise dimensions using appropriate cutting tools.
• Operate fabrication machinery including guillotines, press brakes, rollers, notchers, band saws, and chop saws.
• Assist with MIG/TIG welding and the assembly of metal components as required.
• Deburr, finish, and inspect fabricated parts to ensure they meet high-quality standards.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment, following all health and safety protocols.

Job requirements

Requirements:

• Proven experience in sheet metal work and fabrication, particularly with light gauge materials.
• Strong ability to read and interpret detailed engineering and technical drawings.
• Good understanding of fabrication tolerances and material behavior under different processes.
• Proficiency in using a variety of hand and machine tools, including: Guillotines; Press brakes; Rollers; Notching tools; Band saws and chop saws; Angle grinders and hand shears; Drill presses; Precision measuring tools (tape measures, calipers, squares, etc.)
• High attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality workmanship.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team environment.
• Strong communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
