Job summary

Abbott in Kilkenny is seeking a Lab Technician to perform setup, testing and verification of sensors and related laboratory activities in a regulated environment. You will handle buffers, instruments, batch records and quality systems while supporting cost and efficiency improvements.

The role requires attention to detail, strong documentation discipline and teamwork within the quality-focused Abbott Diabetes Care lab in Kilkenny.

Qualifications

• A Level 7 or Level 8 qualification in a relevant science or engineering discipline, or equivalent.
• Experience of working in a laboratory or product test environment with analytical/testing instruments.
• Basic computer skills to operate laboratory applications and equipment.
• Experience in a regulated environment with documentation discipline.

Responsibilities

• Operate laboratory equipment following SOPs and perform testing per schedules.
• Prepare solutions, weigh materials, and manage laboratory inventory.
• Perform verifications and data/documentation reviews as required.
• Support health and safety policies and drive continuous improvement.
