Job summary

Bristol Myers Squibb seeks a Utilities Electrical Engineer to support operation and reliability of site Utilities systems within the Critical Utilities Team. You will work with Plant SMEs to ensure regulatory standards and best practices, driving lean improvements and right-first-time delivery.

You will contribute to asset strategy, PM development, and KPI reporting while liaising with the Electrical SME and operations to maintain safety and quality in a fast-paced biopharmaceutical environment.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in utility systems in a regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Electrical trade qualification with further development and/or a level 8 degree for the Electrical Utility position.
  • Experience in hardwired control systems and safety circuitry.
  • Experience in Life Safety & Security systems (Fire Alarm, Access Control, CCTV, Emergency Lighting).
  • Experience reading functional design specifications, control drawings, electrical drawings, and P&ID’s.
  • Experience in Reliability engineering
  • Experience in Project Management or Reliability Program Development would be an advantage
  • Experience in Maintenance management and Reliability programs.
  • Experience in Utilities start-up & commissioning
  • Experience in planning and executing maintenance shutdowns
  • High level of computer literacy with CMMS, safety investigation systems, Utility system software systems.
  • Experience of OPEX and lean principals
  • Experience in the pharmaceutical/biopharmaceutical industry, with regulatory knowledge (Safety, Quality, cGMP).
  • Ability to work in a fast-moving environment and meet deadlines; good delegation, organizing, and planning skills.
  • Proven success working in a team with flexibility to changing business needs.
  • Ability to work independently and remotely with minimal supervision.
  • Safety First Mentality and advocate of BMS behaviors

Responsibilities

  • Develop utilities maintenance and operations strategy with Plant SMEs.
  • Support asset strategy development, PM development and optimization; reflect scope in assets, PMs and job plans.
  • Report to the Critical Utilities Manager and the site Electrical SME.
  • Technical troubleshooting on Electrical systems, LSS systems & control elements of utility systems.
  • Support resolution of issues or system escalations from the Utilities operations team.
  • Understand utility control systems such as building automation and other process automation.
  • Develop equipment reliability measurement and systems.
  • Develop performance monitoring systems and methodologies for the Utility Systems.
  • Engage with equipment vendors on troubleshooting and performance improvements.
  • Develop Vendor SLAs.
  • Lead investigations on Utilities equipment and systems.
  • Train operations on Utility systems.
  • Develop PMs in line with planners and area owners/SMEs.
