Job summary

Murphy is recruiting a Senior Structural Steel Design Engineer to join our Newbridge team. You’ll lead steel design and connections for major building projects across Ireland and the UK, ensuring compliance with Eurocode 3, BS5975 and project specs, while coordinating with fabrication and construction teams.

This role requires a Level 8 degree in Civil/Structural Engineering, chartership preferred, 3–5 years in structural steel design, and mentoring capabilities in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• A Level 8 degree in Civil or Structural Engineering is required; master's preferred.

Responsibilities

• Excel in steelwork designs and connections; integrate with the team and help the design manager carry out daily design work.
• Work with the design manager to meet quality, environmental, and safety standards.
• Design and review steel connections, including calculations, drawings and 3-D models per Eurocode & BS5950.
• Ensure designs support safe fabrication and erection.
• Oversee deliverables through checks and peer reviews.
