Job summary

AECOM in Dublin is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to lead delivery of complex projects across residential, healthcare, education and infrastructure sectors.

You will provide technical leadership, mentor junior engineers, engage clients, and ensure safety, quality and standards across multidisciplinary teams. This role offers a hybrid work model within a global firm and significant growth opportunities in Ireland and beyond.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Chartered Engineer status, or working towards chartership with a recognised professional institution (e.g., Engineers Ireland, ICE, IStructE).
• Proven experience delivering structural engineering projects with technical design management and multidisciplinary coordination.
• Strong leadership with experience managing engineers and technicians to meet deadlines and quality objectives.
• Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with senior stakeholders, clients and project partners.
• Good understanding of Irish and international design standards, health and safety regulations, and quality assurance procedures.
• Experience mentoring and supporting the development of junior engineers and team members.
• Proficiency in industry-standard structural analysis and design software.
• Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical delivery of projects and work packages with high-quality outcomes.
• Manage projects from initial client brief through coordinated multidisciplinary design delivery.
• Oversee engineers and technicians to meet timelines and performance expectations.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with senior stakeholders and clients.
• Ensure designs comply with health and safety requirements and QA standards.
• Mentor junior team members and support career progression.
