Job summary

SSA Recruitment Ireland is seeking a Structural Engineer in Dublin with 5–8 years’ experience to join a respected civil and structural consultancy. Take ownership of projects from concept to completion, produce calculations, drawings, and reports, and coordinate with architects and contractors.

The role requires strong Eurocodes knowledge, a relevant Master’s degree, and expertise in Tekla, Tedds, Robot, AutoCAD, with Revit advantageous.

Qualifications

• 5–8+ years’ experience in Irish consultancies
• Masters degree preferred
• Expert knowledge of Eurocodes and Irish Building Regulations

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of structural engineering projects from concept to completion
• Produce and review structural calculations, drawings, specifications, reports
• Develop practical, sustainable structural solutions across diverse projects
• Coordinate with architects, contractors and clients to meet requirements
• Provide technical guidance and ensure compliance with standards
• Manage design inputs, resources and schedules for timely delivery
• Attend meetings and communicate with stakeholders
• Mentor junior engineers and share knowledge

Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Structural Engineer with 5-8 years’ experience to join a highly regarded, award-winning Civil and Structural Engineering consultancy in Dublin.

Key Responsibilities

• Take ownership of structural engineering projects, supporting their progression from initial concept and design development through to construction and completion.


• Produce and review structural calculations, technical drawings, specifications, reports, and other project documentation.


• Develop practical, efficient, and sustainable structural solutions across a variety of building and project types.


• Work closely with architects, contractors, clients, and other consultants to ensure structural designs are well coordinated and meet project requirements.


• Provide technical guidance throughout the design process, ensuring all work complies with applicable Eurocodes, Irish Building Regulations, and relevant industry standards.


• Manage structural design inputs, project resources, and agreed programmes to help ensure projects are delivered efficiently and to a high standard.


• Attend project meetings and maintain effective communication with clients, contractors, and wider project stakeholders.


• Provide technical support and guidance to less experienced engineers, helping to develop the team’s knowledge and capabilities.

Requirements

• Ideally 5 - 8+ years experience in Irish consultancies with expert knowledge of Eurocodes.


• Relevant Degree (Masters Preferably).


• Expertise in software such as Tekla, Tedds, Robot, AutoCAD.


• Revit advantageous.
