Job summary

European Tech Recruit in Cork, Ireland seeks a Senior Staff Embedded Software Engineer to lead firmware for AI accelerator and security in data-centre compute systems. You will own low-level software across SoC bring-up, boot, and platform integration.

You will mentor engineers, set coding standards, and collaborate with hardware, system software, and external partners to deliver robust, production-grade firmware and CI/CD pipelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer/Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• 12+ years of low-level firmware or system software development with leadership experience.
• Expert-level C/C++, with Python or Bash scripting; Linux-based environments and RTOS (Zephyr).

Responsibilities

• Firmware architecture and strategy across SoC, board, and platform levels (boot, reset, debug, security, power, RAS, IPC).
• SoC bring-up and scalability: drive bring-up at scale with performance, reliability, and observability for cloud environments.
• Technical leadership and mentorship: set coding standards, guide senior engineers, align cross-functional teams.
• System debugging and CI/CD: lead root-cause analysis, improve debuggability, and build CI/CD validation frameworks.
• Ecosystem and deployment: collaborate with ODMs, silicon vendors, and manufacturing partners to deploy platforms.
