Job summary

Adecco in Dublin is seeking an experienced SQL DBA/Developer for a rolling contract to support a multi-year transformation project. You will manage a large SQL database environment, focusing on performance, high availability, and data integrity.

The role requires deep knowledge of MS SQL Server, SSIS/SSMS, and BI technologies, with a strong ability to operate in a fast-paced, regulated environment. This contract spans 6 to 18 months and may extend based on project needs.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of SQL experience in a high-volume transaction processing environment.
• Strong experience with Microsoft SQL Server up to 2025.
• Strong experience with performance tuning on MS SQL Server.
• Experience with data integrity and data retention.
• Knowledge of and working experience with business intelligence technologies.
• Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft SQL Management and SSIS tools.
• Experience with SQL clustering, SQL replication, hardware replication, and/or disaster recovery implementations.
• Ability to operate in a fast-paced, very high-volume transaction processing environment.

Responsibilities

• Join our group on a rolling contract basis for a multi-year transformation project.
• Support a large SQL database environment with 17 petabytes of data in a highly regulated setting.
• Perform database monitoring, troubleshooting, performance tuning, and high-availability strategies using MS SQL Server 2016, 2019, and 2025 in production.
• Administer, maintain, develop, and recommend policies and procedures to ensure database and system performance, availability, security, and integrity.
• Proactively monitor production databases and stored procedure execution for optimum performance.
• Resolve locking conflicts, blocking, and resource utilisation issues.
• Identify and resolve database performance issues, capacity issues, and other database-related issues.
