Job summary

Corlann Clare is seeking a Senior Speech & Language Therapist to join our multidisciplinary Intellectual Disability Service in Ennis. You will provide specialist assessment, intervention, and consultation for adults with complex communication needs, with a lead in AAC implementation.

The role focuses on developing person-centred communication strategies, delivering training, supervising staff, and contributing to service improvement.

Qualifications

• Qualified Speech & Language Therapist registered with CORU.
• Minimum of 3 years post-qualification experience with intellectual disabilities and complex communication needs.
• Demonstrable expertise in AAC assessment and intervention.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist SLT assessment and intervention for adults with intellectual disabilities and complex communication needs.
• Conduct comprehensive AAC assessments and implement appropriate low-tech and high-tech solutions.
• Develop individualised communication plans to support participation across settings.
• Train and support staff in the effective use of AAC systems.
• Contribute to multidisciplinary planning and provide specialist communication advice.
• Maintain accurate clinical records and ensure service delivery aligns with standards.
• Participate in governance, audit and evidence-based practice initiatives.
• Supervise junior staff and therapy assistants as required.
