Job summary

Duffy Alexander Recruitment is partnering with a private service to appoint a Senior Speech and Language Therapist to their established, highly skilled team. This role has responsibility for working with inpatients and outpatients.

Key duties include assessing and treating swallowing and communication challenges, carrying out video fluoroscopy, and providing SLT education to MDT, with ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Honours degree in Speech and Language Therapy.
• Minimum of 4 years relevant experience in inpatient/outpatient settings within a multidisciplinary team.
• Experience with dysphagia, dysphonia and acquired disorders preferred; tracheostomy weaning experience is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Assess, treat and advise patients with swallowing and/or communication challenges.
• Carry out video fluoroscopy, analyse and report findings.
• Provide SLT education across the multidisciplinary team and during swallow screening.
• Present and help develop service improvements for inpatients, outpatients and colleagues.

Job description

I am partnering with a private service to appoint a Senior Speech and Language Therapist to their established, highly skilled team.

This role has responsibility for working with inpatients and outpatients.

Sample Duties:

• Assess, treat and advise patients presenting with swallowing and/or communication challenges.
• Carry out video fluoroscopy, analyse and report findings.
• Provide SLT education including awareness of swallow screening across MDT.
• As a senior SLT, present and manage opportunities to continuously improve the service to inpatients, outpatients and multidisciplinary colleagues.
• Build and nurture mutually rewarding relationships with multidisciplinary colleagues.
• Work with Management to further develop the service
• Continuous attendance at internal and external training to maintain and enhance up to date skills and knowledge.

Requirements:

• a relevant Hons degree in Speech and Language Therapy.
• A minimum of 4 years relevant experience working with inpatients and outpatients in a multidisciplinary team environment, including experience in dysphagia, dysphonia and acquired disorders.
• Tracheostomy weaning experience is preferred
