Job summary

Northern Trust in Ireland seeks an experienced security professional to support GPSS physical security operations across Ireland and the Security Control Centre in Limerick.

Role

Under the direction of the EMEA Head of Physical Security, this role supports the delivery of GPSS physical security operations across Ireland and contributes to the effective operation of the Security Control Centre (SCC) in Limerick.


The successful candidate will provide support across physical security operations, contracted guarding services, security technology platforms, incident management, investigations, emergency response activities, and intelligence analysis. The role also helps ensure the consistent application of GPSS policies, standards, and procedures while maintaining effective security service delivery across the region.


Working closely with Workplace Services, Technology, Human Resources, Risk Management, Legal, Compliance, external service providers, and local authorities, the individual will support the delivery of security services and contribute to operational improvement initiatives. Strategic, high-risk, and significant operational matters will be escalated through established governance channels.


Major Duties


  • Support the delivery of physical security operations across Ireland and contribute to the effective operation of the Security Control Centre (SCC).

  • Coordinate day-to-day security activities and assist in maintaining operational standards across guarding services, security systems, and control centre functions.

  • Act as a local point of contact for routine operational security matters, ensuring issues are tracked, communicated, and escalated appropriately.

  • Support SCC service delivery through performance monitoring, process improvement, and implementation of approved changes.

  • Maintain operating procedures, guidance documents, workflows, records, and reporting materials.

  • Monitor contracted security services and support vendor governance activities, including service reviews and issue resolution.

  • Support access control governance, access authorisation processes, and related audit requirements.

  • Administer CCTV retention, retrieval, and evidential release processes in line with legal, regulatory, and company requirements.

  • Support the management of security incidents and emergency situations through coordination, communication, documentation, and escalation.

  • Identify security vulnerabilities, procedural gaps, and operational risks, making recommendations for improvement.

  • Produce reports, management information, performance metrics, and trend analysis to support decision-making.

  • Support security budget administration, invoice processing, procurement activities, and expenditure tracking.

  • Maintain inventories of security equipment, systems, and operational assets.

  • Support regional and global GPSS initiatives and perform other duties as required.


Skills & Experience


  • 5-7 years' experience in physical security, corporate security, investigations, law enforcement, military, intelligence, risk management, or a related discipline.

  • Experience supporting physical security operations within a corporate or regulated environment.

  • Experience working with security vendors, contract guarding providers, and security technology platforms.

  • Experience supporting incident management, investigations, emergency response, and business continuity activities.

  • Experience coordinating operational activities and delivering security-related initiatives.

  • Working knowledge of access control, CCTV, intrusion detection, visitor management, and security monitoring systems.

  • Understanding of physical security risk management, governance, and compliance principles.
