Job summary

Northern Trust is seeking a Senior Analyst to join the Cyber Coordination Centre in Ireland. You will primarily perform initial triage of security incidents on our SIEM and contribute to a resilient monitoring model to protect networks and information.

You will collaborate with security teams to develop automation, tune alerts, and mentor colleagues, with opportunities to expand skills in AI-driven threat triage and incident response.

Qualifications

  • Experience in information technology or cyber security roles including security operations/incident response.
  • Programming knowledge and aptitude.
  • Adversarial mindset and understanding of threat actors’ goals and TTPs.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze security alerts in the SIEM and respond using runbooks, with initiative.
  • Collaborate to develop SOAR/automation for faster threat response.
  • Apply AI techniques for triaging and remediating threats.
  • Design, review and tune alerts for efficiency.
  • Mentor team members on new procedures and playbooks.
  • Escalate incidents for immediate action when required.

Role/ Department:

Excellent opportunity to further develop Cyber expertise in an exciting Cyber Security role on a growing team, while enhancing Northern Trusts Cyber Security posture. As part of Northern Trust’s Cyber Coordination Centre, the Senior Analyst will be primarily responsible for the initial triage of potential security incidents on our SIEM (Security Information and Event Management) solution. The Senior Analyst will also play a crucial role in executing Northern Trust’s security monitoring model, contributing to a resilient and unified team that improves NT’s ability to protect and defend its networks and information.

The key responsibilities of the role include:
  • Conducting incident analysis on security alerts in the SIEM and respond using security runbooks and playbooks but also utilising your own initiative and skills.
  • Work with the Security teams to develop SOAR/automation solutions for increased efficiency and speed of response to security events.
  • Skills in the emerging AI space, focusing on triaging and remediating threats.
  • Design, review and tune alerts to increase efficiency.
  • Mentoring and coaching within the team on new procedures/playbooks developed.
  • Escalate incidents as needed, for further immediate action.
Skills / Qualifications:
