Job summary

MongoDB is seeking a Senior Engineer for the Server Ingress Security team in Ireland. You will design and implement security services in Rust, focusing on correctness, performance, and operability, while building Atlas Network Protection layer security features.

You will collaborate with Server, Atlas, Drivers, SRE, and Product Security teams to ensure integration with the MongoDB ecosystem and help define the team's roadmap.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal and written technical communication; collaborate effectively.
• Understanding of network protocols, TLS, and connection lifecycle.
• 5+ years building production-quality systems in Rust; backend experience preferred.
• Strong systems fundamentals: multithreading and performance profiling.
• Experience with security-sensitive domains is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and operate production-ready security services in Rust with a focus on security and performance.
• Develop ingress networking and security solutions for database service reliability.
• Diagnose test failures and performance regressions and implement fixes.
• Lead development and project management for features within the Ingress Security domain.
• Collaborate with Server, Atlas, Drivers, SRE, and Product Security teams for seamless integration.
• Collaborate with Product Management and Engineering leadership to define the team's roadmap.
