Job summary

PUNCH Consulting Engineers, a COWI company, in Limerick is seeking a Senior Resident Engineer to supervise a pier improvements design and build. You will split your week between the office and on-site supervision with a typical 45-hour week and occasional on-site stays on Arran Island, Co.

Galway. Requirements include a degree in engineering or construction management (Level 8 NFQ), site-based civil/marine experience, Chartered Engineer status, and Safe Pass.

Qualifications

• Degree in engineering or construction management (minimum Level 8 NFQ or equivalent).
• Experience in civil engineering works, preferably marine works, with site-based supervision.
• Senior Resident Engineer or equivalent with marine project experience valued over €2M.
• Chartered Engineer status (CEng MIEI) preferred.
• Safe Pass certification required prior to commencement.
• Ability to communicate in Gaeilge for island resident liaison is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Employer’s Representative and liaise with contractors, clients and stakeholders.
• Organise supervision on site throughout construction works on the project.
• Review contractor claims and prepare related reports; assess payment applications.
• Monitor progress relative to the construction programme and ensure license compliance.
• Supervise works, maintain records, and manage contractual documentation.
• Ensure works align with contract specifications and design drawings.
• Oversee traffic management and phasing of works in accordance with guidelines.
