Job summary

Sun Life in Ireland is seeking a Senior Red Team Operator to join our Offensive Security team. You will simulate cyberattacks, identify vulnerabilities, and help strengthen defenses across information systems.

The role demands deep knowledge of attack vectors, malware, social engineering, and exploit development, plus strong analytical and communication skills for reporting to stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years in offensive security / penetration testing.
• University degree in CS, CE or security.
• Strong experience in offensive security programming and automation.
• Minimum 2 years mentoring junior operators.
• Minimum 4 years delivering red team reports and briefings.
• Industry certifications (OSCP/SANS/CEH/CISSP, CPTS) are a strong asset.
• Excellent report-writing and communication skills.
• Knowledge of OS, networks, app configuration.

Responsibilities

• Plan, conduct, and report Red Team assessments and adversary emulation.
• Perform network, web, and mobile testing; code reviews.
• Develop scripts and tools for Red Team ops.
• Maintain a cloud-based OPSEC-focused Red Team environment (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Support Purple Team exercises and detection capability testing.
• Research threats and keep up with Red Team frameworks.
• Produce weekly/monthly vulnerability trend reports.
