Job summary

Sun Life Financial in Ireland seeks an experienced senior operator to own the end-to-end offensive security lifecycle, including planning, scoping, scheduling, execution, reporting, remediation tracking, and closure. You will design and improve processes, coordinate red team exercises, and ensure alignment with risk priorities and regulatory expectations.

You will lead annual planning, drive purple and red team activities, provide delivery oversight, and facilitate audit and advisory engagements

Qualifications

• 5-7 years’ experience in operational Cyber Security roles.
• Strong understanding of information security concepts and trends.
• Problem solving with creative solutions.
• Maintain high technical knowledge of systems and solutions.
• Industry certifications (SANS/CEH/CISSP) are a strong asset.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end offensive security lifecycle with planning, scoping, scheduling, execution, and remediation tracking.
• Define and improve offensive security processes, playbooks, standards, and engagement models.
• Ensure activities align with risk priorities, threat intel, and regulatory expectations.
• Lead annual and quarterly offensive security planning across assets and services.
• Coordinate Red Team exercises, adversary emulation, purple team activities, and third parties.
• Act as the single point of orchestration between Red Team, defense, engineering, and vendors.
• Provide delivery oversight for Red Team assessments and detection validation activities.
• Support Purple Team engagements with actionable findings mapped to detection improvements.
• Own lifecycle tracking of findings from identification through remediation and validation.
• Prepare evidence for audits and regulatory reviews; ensure defensible security activities.
• Advise application, infrastructure, and platform teams on secure design and exposure.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, coverage, and impact of offensive security.
