Job Description:
As such, Direct Medics are working in partnership with a client based in the Dublin 4 area to find an experienced and dedicated Senior Ultrasonographer for a 6-9 month period.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- To organise/supervise/perform ultrasound examinations according to any protocols provided, and to supervise other staff, as appropriate
- To assist in the daily operational management of the services
- To maintain high standards of patient care, technique and safety
- To keep abreast of, and embrace where appropriate, current techniques and developments particularly in relation to PACS/IT.
- To assist in the education and training of staff as appropriate, as well as undergraduate and postgraduate students and encourage professional development
- To adhere to all Health & Safety Guidelines and all Whole Hospital and Department PPGs.
- To be observant in relation to equipment faults and errors and to report all defects or occurrences to Clinical Specialist Radiographer or Radiography Service Manager.
- To participate in Clinical Audit and Quality Improvement Programmes as required
- To attend relevant post-graduate courses and to undertake/assist with research projects
- To adhere to the professional guidelines laid down by the Irish Institute of Radiographers and Radiation Therapists (IIRRT).
- To perform any other duties in the Radiology Department or its satellites deemed appropriate to the grade by the Radiography Service Manager
- The post holder may be required, from time to time, to deputise for a Clinical Specialist Radiographer
Requirements:
- CORU registered Radiographer
- Postgraduate qualification in Ultrasound
- Have 3 years fulltime (or an aggregate of 3 years) post qualification clinical experience (UK/ROI)
- Have the requisite knowledge and ability (including a high standard of suitability and professional ability) for the proper discharge of the duties of the office.
- Full ROI drivers license and access to a car
- Right to live and work in the UK/Ireland without VISA sponsorship
