Job summary

Sccsinternational in Dublin is seeking a senior quantity surveyor to lead cost control on a campus programme.

You will manage a team of intermediate quantity surveyors, oversee daily cost management, and report on project performance. The role requires extensive experience in aviation/transport infrastructure and a strong grasp of contracts and measurement methods. This is a full-time, permanent, hybrid position.

Qualifications

• Fifteen years+ experience in quantity surveying or cost management.
• At least three years in aviation or transport infrastructure on complex, high-value projects.
• Working knowledge of construction contracts, drawings and specifications, and cost management methods.

Responsibilities

• Measure designs and works completed on site; develop or review schedules of rates or BOQ.
• Assess materials on and off site and issue monthly payment certificates.
• Prepare or review final accounts and monitor anticipated final project cost.
• Provide cost advice to project teams and ensure payments align with contract reimbursement principles.
• Manage a team of intermediate QS and maintain resourcing plans for cost delivery.

Job description

A senior quantity surveying appointment in Dublin, working for the contracting entity on a campus programme and named in the posting as responsible for cost control on its behalf.

The holder manages a team of intermediate quantity surveyors, oversees their day to day cost management work on individual projects, maintains the resourcing plan for cost management delivery, and reports on the performance of the projects within the remit.

The commercial duties are set out in detail: undertaking or reviewing measurement of designs and of works completed on site, developing the schedule of rates or bill of quantities, assessing materials on and off site, issuing monthly payment certificates and package final accounts, and monitoring the anticipated final project cost.

Recommendations on monthly payments and final accounts are to be made so that contractual entitlement is established. The posting places the role alongside the claims, contract management and project management teams, to whom the holder provides cost advice, and requires that payments comply with the reimbursement principles in the contract.

Experience sought is fifteen years or more, at least three of them in aviation or transport infrastructure, on technically complex and high value projects, gained in a consultancy, client or contractor organisation. Working knowledge of construction contract commercial documents, drawings and specifications is required, together with cost management method including the standard method of measurement. Full time, permanent and hybrid.
