Job summary

Rockwell in Cork region is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to oversee cost management and procurement for Mechanical projects. This permanent, full-time role reports to the Commercial Manager and requires at least 5 years of industry experience.

Qualifications

• Relevant 3rd level qualification in Quantity Surveying, or a related field.
• Have a minimum of 5 years' experience as a quantity surveyor within the construction industry, with exposure to commercial and industrial scale projects.
• Have strong commercial awareness.
• Knowledge and understanding of both HVAC and Piping Systems.
• Be comfortable in your use of Microsoft Office, with the ability to generate detailed monthly reports.
• Have a positive attitude with a passion to learn & succeed, an energetic approach and an ability to take accountability.

Responsibilities

• Overseeing all aspects of cost management and procurement for our projects.
• Full management, pricing and collation of Mechanical projects and budgets.
• Ensure contractual requirements are met and guide the construction team in relation to this.
• Identify potential commercial risks and report to management.
• Review and update monthly progress reports to reflect remeasurements, site variations, additional work, and any claims.
• Manage subcontractor accounts from initial award to interim valuation, variations, and final account.
• Forecast turnover and cash flow of the projects.
• Evaluate and oversee the commercial aspects of all projects to ensure accurate and trustworthy reporting.
• Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and new technologies affecting Mechanical and HVAC systems.
