Job summary

Circle is hiring a Senior Quality Engineer to shape how quality is built into our AI-powered platform. You’ll partner with Engineering, Product Leads and Design across multiple product areas, driving automation and exploratory testing to ship with confidence.

You’ll work across product teams, contributing to testing strategies, risk-based plans, and quality enablement in a fully remote, async environment. Circle offers global compensation, equity, and generous time off.

Qualifications

• Strong written and verbal communication in English.
• Experience as a Quality Engineer in modern product teams.
• Proven web test automation experience with Playwright, TypeScript or similar tech.
• Good knowledge of API and integration testing.
• Strong exploratory and risk-based testing skills.
• Ability to read code and debug complex issues.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated test execution.
• Ability to influence decisions with quality insights.

Responsibilities

• Partner with multiple product teams across Circle.
• Involve early in product, design and engineering discussions.
• Identify meaningful product, technical and customer risks.
• Bring a quality perspective to user journeys, UI/UX, requirements and approaches.
• Shape pragmatic, risk-based testing approaches based on changes and impact.
• Build and maintain reliable automated coverage across web, APIs and integrations.
• Decide what to automate, where to test, and what signals are strongest.
• Investigate complex failures across app, APIs, CI pipelines and supporting systems.
• Improve testability, reliability and developer feedback loops.
• Use modern engineering and AI-assisted tooling for planning, automation, debugging, or investigation.
• Identify recurring quality issues and drive cross-team improvements.
• Use production signals to improve prevention, not just detection.
• Help teams make informed risk/coverage/release decisions.
• Share knowledge to strengthen quality ownership across Engineering.
• Bonus: contribute to quality platforms and tooling.
