Job summary

Anthony Conaghan Cars in Dublin is seeking a Fully Qualified Accountant to manage day-to-day financial operations, prepare statements, and maintain ledgers on-site. You will oversee cash flow, accounts payable/receivable, and monthly and annual closings.

The role requires ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualification and a strong grasp of Irish tax rules, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls. You will partner with auditors and other departments to provide financial insights and drive business performance.

Qualifications

• Professional accounting qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) and relevant bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• Experience in financial accounting, including preparation of financial statements, GL management, and month-end/year-end reporting.
• Strong knowledge of Irish tax regulations, compliance requirements, and familiarity with accounting standards applicable to retail or automotive sectors.
• Proficiency in accounting and ERP software, as well as solid skills in spreadsheet and data analysis tools (e.g., Excel).
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning, including variance analysis and cost control.
• Solid understanding of internal controls, audit processes, and risk management in a commercial environment.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and organizational abilities, with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to explain financial information to non‑financial colleagues and work as part of a cross‑functional team.
• Ability to work independently on‑site in Dublin, manage multiple deadlines, and adapt to a fast‑paced retail environment.
• Previous experience in the motor trade or retail industry is an advantage but not essential.

Responsibilities
