Job summary

Stelfox IT Recruitment is recruiting a Senior Python Backend Developer for a Dublin-based contract role. The position blends design, development, and delivery of scalable backend services in a hybrid setup with three days onsite.

You will collaborate with engineering, product, and architecture teams to build cloud-native applications and distributed systems used by thousands of users. Start date is November/December 2026, with a 6-month initial contract and rolling extensions.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of commercial Python development experience.
• Proven experience designing and developing RESTful APIs.
• Strong SQL and relational database expertise.
• Experience building scalable backend and distributed systems.
• Solid Linux/Unix environment experience.
• Experience with Git and modern software development practices.
• Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools such as Jenkins, Ansible, or similar.
• Strong understanding of software design principles and engineering best practices.
• Experience working within Agile development environments.
