Job summary

St John of God University Hospital in Ireland is seeking a Senior Psychologist (Clinical or Counselling) on a specified purpose, part-time basis (17.5 hours per week). You will deliver specialist psychology services to adolescents and their families within a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities include assessments, therapy, pathway development, treatment planning, and outcome measurement, with emphasis on evidence-based approaches such as CBT, DBT, and related modalities.

Qualifications

  • PhD in Clinical or Counselling Psychology accredited by the PSI and Dept. of Health.
  • Post-qualification experience with adolescents and families across settings.
  • Experience managing workload in a busy MDT.
  • Experience with specialist therapies (CBT, DBT, CFTe, etc.).

Responsibilities

  • Provide specialist psychology services including assessment and intervention.
  • Lead development of treatment pathways and ensure client access to psychology time.
  • Formulate and implement plans for treatment and measure outcomes.
  • Collaborate in a multidisciplinary team to deliver integrated care for adolescents and families.

Senior Psychologist (Clinical or Counselling) – Specified Purpose, Part-time (17.5 Hours per week)

Responsibilities:
  • To provide a range of specialist psychology services for clients and family members including: comprehensive assessment; intervention that includes a range of modalities and therapy models (e.g., CBTe, DBT, CBT, etc); report writing; psychological programme implementation; outcome measurement; and review of effectiveness and service user satisfaction.
  • To lead in developing treatment pathways which ensure client access to psychology time.
  • To formulate and implement plans for the formal psychological treatment and/or management of a client’s mental health needs, based upon an appropriate conceptual framework of the client’s difficulties, and employing methods of proven efficacy.
  • To work as a member of a multidisciplinary team providing an integrated and co-ordinated service to adolescents and their families, and to contribute to the integrated care plans.
Essential Qualifications:
  • Clinical/Counselling Psychology qualification (min. PhD) as accredited by the Psychological Society of Ireland and Dept. of Health.
  • Post qualification experience of working with adolescents & families across service settings and agencies.
  • Experience of managing own workload and responding to demand for psychology within a busy MDT.
  • Highly developed, in-depth knowledge & experience of specialist therapeutic interventions with the client group, including at least two subspecialty areas, (e.g., CBTe, DBT, CFTe, etc.).
