Fehily Timoney and Company (FT) is one of Ireland’s largest indigenous consultancies specialising in Sustainable Infrastructure, Circular Economy, Environment, Energy and Renewables.

FT is seeking to recruit a Senior Project Town Planner to join our Planning team, contributing to the growth of the Planning business while collaborating closely with multidisciplinary professionals. This role provides the opportunity to work across a diverse portfolio of high-profile projects in the renewable energy, infrastructure, urban development and waste projects. Responsibilities will include the preparation and submission of planning applications, as well as delivering strategic planning advice and guidance on consenting processes and strategies.

For the right candidate, there will be opportunities to lead multidisciplinary teams in the preparation of environmental reports and Environmental Impact Assessment Reports (EIARs) for renewable energy projects. This position offers significant exposure to Ireland’s rapidly growing renewable energy sector, and FT’s wide range of ongoing projects ensures a strong platform for long-term career progression.

FT's Responsibilities

What would my main responsibilities be in this role?

  • Preparing and submitting planning applications, as well as developing reports, feasibility assessments, masterplans, and strategic planning documents across a diverse range of projects.
  • Engaging with a broad spectrum of clients, including those in both the public and private sectors.
  • Contributing actively to the delivery of a variety of environmental projects.
  • Leading and/or coordinating multidisciplinary project teams to ensure successful project delivery
  • Collaborating effectively within teams working to support the execution and completion of projects.
Skills / Qualifications

Am I the right person for the role?

  • Degree and/or Masters in Town Planning
  • Minimum of seven years’ experience
  • Extensive town planning experience and expert knowledge of planning and environmental legislation.
  • Corporate / Chartered member of the IPI / RTPI.
  • Experience of preparing and submitting planning applications, drafting reports, feasibility studies, masterplans and planning strategies for a wide range of projects.
  • Experience of working with a range of client bodies including both private sector and public sector.
  • Previous experience of having an active role in the delivery of varied environmental projects.
  • Experience in overseeing, and/or project managing multidisciplinary projects.
  • Experience of team working to support the delivery of projects.
