Job description

Our purpose is simple: to save lives at sea. 24 hours a day, every day, RNLI lifesavers are ready to launch to the rescue.

To do this, we rely on first-class facilities, infrastructure and construction projects that directly support our lifesaving mission. We’re now looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager to join our Estates team and lead the delivery of complex, high-value capital projects across the Ireland Region.

Your role

This role will focus on the delivery of estates project in our Irish Region where we have a significant programme of construction and infrastructure works.

As a Senior Project Manager, you’ll take responsibility for the successful delivery of multiple construction and infrastructure projects, often running simultaneously. You’ll ensure each project is delivered on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards – all while supporting the RNLI’s lifesaving goals.

Your work will span the full project lifecycle, from scoping and procurement through to handover and benefits realisation. You’ll manage contractors and consultants, maintain cost and risk management processes, and ensure compliance with CDM 2015 and other relevant regulations.

The RNLI operates its lifesaving service around the coast in the UK and Ireland and there is a requirement for the Senior Project Manager to undertake travel throughout these areas dependant on project locations.

About you

We’re looking for someone with:

  • A degree in Civil/Structural Engineering, Building Studies, or equivalent experience.
  • A recognised project management qualification (e.g. PRINCE2, APM).
  • Significant experience and proven success in leading and delivering multiple complex construction or infrastructure projects, ideally with budgets of £3m+.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach, motivate and inspire others.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with confidence to engage at all levels, including executive.
  • The ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multi-project environment.
  • It would also be an advantage if you are Chartered or Incorporated with a professional body such as RICS, CIOB, ICE, or working towards this.
