Job summary

TechHeads in Ireland seeks an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead a major technology transformation programme. You will operate as the deputy to the Programme Director, driving governance, reporting and stakeholder engagement across multiple workstreams.

You will partner with senior client leaders to ensure delivery discipline, manage risks and dependencies, and report on progress. This role is predominantly onsite in Dublin with substantial interaction at executive level.

Responsibilities

• Provide senior oversight across programme delivery, governance, milestones, dependencies and critical path.
• Coordinate multiple Project Managers and delivery workstreams for alignment and accountability.
• Own programme-level reporting including progress, risks, blockers and delivery implications.
• Lead and present governance updates to senior leadership and client stakeholders.
• Act as deputy to the Programme Director supporting decision-making and escalation.
• Establish and maintain governance, controls and reporting frameworks.
• Manage complex stakeholder relationships across technical, business, client and external teams.
• Bridge between technical delivery teams and senior non-technical stakeholders.
• Identify delivery risks and drive mitigation and recovery plans.
• Ensure deliverables align to objectives, timelines and quality standards.
• Lead and coordinate project teams to drive accountability and performance.

About the Role

Join a major technology transformation programme operating within a highly regulated and complex environment that will change the trajectory of how Irish Transportation functions with significant technical and organisational complexity.

This is a senior delivery position, working directly alongside the Programme Director and acting as their key deputy across programme delivery, governance, reporting and stakeholder management.

The successful candidate will provide leadership across multiple project workstreams, bringing structure, governance and delivery discipline to a high-profile programme that will change the trajectory of how Irish Transportation functions with significant technical and organisational complexity.

This is an opportunity for an established Senior Project Manager who is ready to operate at Programme Manager level, with significant exposure to senior client stakeholders and executive leadership.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide senior oversight across programme delivery, governance, milestones, dependencies and critical path
• Coordinate multiple Project Managers and delivery workstreams to ensure alignment and accountability
• Own programme-level reporting, including progress, risks, blockers, dependencies and delivery implications
• Lead and present reporting and governance updates to senior leadership and client stakeholders
• Act as a key deputy to the Programme Director, supporting programme-level decision-making and escalation
• Establish and maintain robust governance, controls and reporting frameworks
• Manage complex stakeholder relationships across technical, business, client and external teams
• Act as the bridge between technical delivery teams and senior non-technical stakeholders
• Identify delivery risks and drive appropriate mitigation and recovery plans
• Ensure project deliverables remain aligned to programme objectives, timelines and quality standards
• Lead and coordinate project teams, driving accountability and delivery performance

Required Experience

• Proven senior experience delivering large-scale, complex technology projects or programmes
• Strong background in programme governance, PMO and delivery management
• Experience operating within highly regulated, audited or governance-intensive environments
• Demonstrated experience managing multiple stakeholders, including senior client and executive-level stakeholders
• Experience coordinating multiple Project Managers, teams or delivery workstreams
• Proven track record managing complex projects with significant budgets and organisational impact
• Strong technical understanding, with the ability to engage credibly with technology and engineering teams
• Exceptional communication and presentation skills, particularly with senior stakeholders
• Strong commercial and delivery judgement, with the ability to identify risks and understand wider programme implications
• Ability to operate effectively within complex organisations and navigate challenging stakeholders and governance structures
• Experience within Banking, Financial Services, Insurance, Reinsurance or Public Sector would be highly relevant
• Experience with Jira, Confluence and Power BI
• Microsoft Project or equivalent project planning experience
• Agile, Waterfall or hybrid delivery environments
• Formal Project Management qualification such as PMP or PRINCE2

Salary / Remuneration

• €100,000 base salary DOE
• 5% performance bonus
• 24 days annual leave + Irish bank holidays

• Predominantly onsite - approximately 4-5 days per week
