Job summary

Morgan McKinley is supporting an established multinational food manufacturing organisation in Cork to appoint a Head of Engineering / Senior Project Manager. You will lead the engineering function, manage a portfolio of CAPEX projects and drive capacity expansion on a high-volume infant nutrition site.

You will coordinate with site leadership, oversee budgets and ROI, and ensure successful project delivery from concept to handover in a demanding manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• 10+ years' engineering experience in manufacturing.
• 5+ years in a senior engineering, engineering management or capital projects leadership role.
• Proven experience leading engineering/project teams and managing external contractors.
• Strong track record delivering CAPEX projects from concept through commissioning and handover.
• Experience managing engineering budgets, project costs, business cases and ROI.
• Background in food, dairy, infant nutrition, FMCG or process manufacturing is desirable.
• Experience with brownfield projects, site expansion and capacity increases.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing equipment, automation, utilities and continuous improvement.
• Excellent stakeholder management with site leadership and senior management.

Senior Project Manager

An established multinational food manufacturing organisation is seeking an experienced Head of Engineering / Senior Project Manager to lead the engineering function at an existing, high-volume infant nutrition manufacturing site.

The ideal background

We are particularly interested in candidates with:

• 10+ years' engineering experience, including significant experience in a manufacturing environment.
• 5+ years in a senior engineering, engineering management or capital projects leadership position.
• Proven experience leading engineering/project teams and managing external contractors, consultants and suppliers.
• Strong track record delivering CAPEX projects from concept through commissioning and handover, ideally across multiple concurrent projects.
• Experience managing engineering budgets, project costs, business cases and ROI.
• A background in food, dairy, infant nutrition, FMCG or process manufacturing is highly desirable.
• Experience with brownfield projects, site expansion, capacity increases and process optimisation within an operational manufacturing facility.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing equipment, automation, utilities, reliability and continuous improvement.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage confidently with site leadership and senior management.
• Engineering degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Process, Manufacturing or a related discipline. PMP, PRINCE2 or equivalent is advantageous.

The Role

You will lead the site's engineering strategy and team while overseeing a portfolio of strategic investment projects supporting capacity expansion, operational performance and long-term site development.
