Job summary

European Tech Recruit is seeking a Senior Project Engineer – Simulation in Limerick to lead advanced modelling activities for a leading multinational medical device company on a long-term contract.

You will drive FEA, CFD and Ray Tracing simulations, manage model setup, meshing, solvers, post-processing and reporting, and validate results against physical tests. Collaboration with design, test and engineering teams is essential to deliver accurate, simulation-led recommendations.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with FEA and CFD.
• Practical experience with Ray Tracing, optics, lighting or similar simulation techniques.
• Experience with multiple simulation tools listed (ANSYS, Abaqus, Fluent, CFX, STAR-CCM+, COMSOL, OpenFOAM, Altair) is desirable.
• Engineering degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Physics or Optical Engineering or related field.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support simulation activities across product and engineering projects.
• Model setup, meshing, solver selection, post-processing and technical reporting.
• Supporting engineering and design teams with simulation-led recommendations.

Senior Project Engineer – Simulation (FEA / CFD / Ray Tracing)

Location: Limerick

We are currently looking for a Senior Project Engineer / Simulation Engineer to join a leading multinational medical device company in Limerick on a long-term contract.

This is a specialist engineering role focused on advanced simulation and modelling, with particular emphasis on FEA, CFD and Ray Tracing.

The Role

You will lead and support simulation activities across product and engineering projects, working closely with design, test and engineering teams.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Delivering simulation projects across FEA, CFD and Ray Tracing
• Model setup, meshing, solver selection, post-processing and technical reporting
• Supporting engineering and design teams with simulation-led recommendations
• Validating simulation results against physical test data
• Developing and improving simulation workflows and methodologies
• Supporting automation and optimisation of simulation processes
• Presenting technical findings to engineering and project stakeholders

What We're Looking For

• Hands-on experience with FEA and CFD
