Job description

Matrix Recruitment is seeking candidates for a Senior Process Engineer for our manufacturing client in Wexford Town. (Permanent Role / Onsite)

In this role, you'll lead cross-functional engineering projects, drive process improvements, and support new product development in a fast-paced manufacturing facility.

Your New Role

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage end-to-end delivery of process and capital projects – from planning to execution and commissioning.
  • Collaborate across engineering, operations, and R&D teams to implement new processes and improve existing ones.
  • Act as the process engineering expert in key areas like filtration, blending, and separation.
  • Lead sustainability initiatives related to energy and utility efficiency.
  • Provide technical support to troubleshoot process issues and implement solutions.
  • Drive technology transfer and scale-up from development to production.
  • Ensure all projects meet safety, quality, and regulatory compliance standards.

What You Need:

  • Degree in Chemical or Process Engineering.
  • 5+ years’ experience in a high-volume, regulated environment (ideally food, beverage, distilling) manufacturing.
  • Strong knowledge of chemical processes - distillation, filtration, separation, heating/cooling impacts, and ability to troubleshoot these processes.
  • Able to read and interpret P&ID / process drawings from a design perspective.
  • Familiar with process control/automation (PLCs, SCADA – Allen Bradley preferred) and ATEX/process safety regulations.
  • Experience managing capital/process improvement projects, contractors, and suppliers.
