Job summary

Arcadis is seeking a Senior Process Engineer for a pharmaceutical assignment in Kinsale, Cork. The role is a 12-month contract with high potential for extension, with the option of PAYE or LTD.

You will develop process calculations, PFDs and P&IDs, design equipment and utilities, and lead safety reviews such as HAZOPs and DRAs while coordinating with clients and project teams through design, construction, and qualification stages.

Qualifications

• Degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering or a related discipline.

Responsibilities

• Prepare technical specifications for process equipment and systems.
• Design process equipment, process utilities, waste streams, and material and personnel flows.
• Liaise with equipment suppliers, completing technical bid evaluations and recommendations.
• Generate, own and maintain process documentation from design through construction, C&Q, start-up and operation.
• Provide process engineering support to project and construction teams through detailed design, commissioning and qualification.
• Lead process safety activities, including Design Risk Assessments, HAZOPs and compliance with ATEX, PED and relevant directives.
• Liaise with client design teams and end users, participate in technical/project meetings, and support execution and approval of C&Q documentation.

Requirements

• Degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 10 years’ process design experience within the pharmaceutical and/or biopharmaceutical sectors.
• Strong experience with process design, PFDs, P&IDs, equipment specifications and process documentation.
• Experience participating in process safety and technical reviews, including HAZOPs and Design Risk Assessments.
• Strong communication and client-facing skills, with the ability to work independently within multidisciplinary project teams.
