Job summary

AllSite Staffing is currently recruiting two experienced Ecologists at Senior/Principal level to join a growing environmental and ecology team delivering large-scale capital infrastructure and development projects across Ireland. Qualifications

• Degree in Ecology, Environmental Science or a related discipline is required.
• Previous Irish or UK ecology experience is essential.
• At least 6 years consultancy experience is expected.
• Experience delivering ecological surveys and assessments is required.
• Knowledge of Irish and European environmental legislation is advantageous.
• Strong technical report writing and GIS skills are essential.
• Ability to manage projects, clients and multidisciplinary stakeholders.
• Interest in progressing into project, team and technical leadership.
• Existing right to work in Ireland is essential.
• CIEEM membership and/or Chartership progression would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead ecological assessments and project delivery for major infrastructure projects.
• Develop client relationships and work with multidisciplinary teams from planning to delivery.
• Manage projects, budgets and timelines while mentoring junior staff.
• Contribute to field surveys, reporting and environmental impact assessments.

Currently recruiting for two experienced Ecologists at Senior / Principal level to join a growing environmental and ecology team delivering some of Ireland’s most significant large-scale capital infrastructure and development projects.

The project portfolio includes renewable energy, water and utilities, Uisce Éireann programmes, transport and major infrastructure projects across Ireland.

I am keen to speak with both terrestrial/generalist ecologists and candidates with a particular interest or specialism in freshwater/aquatic ecology.

• Locations: Dublin, Cork, Galway, Kilkenny or Sligo

The Opportunity

Depending on your experience, you will lead ecological assessments and project delivery, working directly with clients and multidisciplinary teams from early planning and consenting through to design and delivery.

For the terrestrial/generalist role, experience may include habitat and botanical surveys, protected species, mammals, bats, ornithology, invasive species, biodiversity assessment and ecological impact assessment.

For the aquatic/freshwater role, experience may include freshwater habitat and fisheries surveys, Q-value and RHAT surveys, aquatic botany, eDNA, electrofishing, freshwater pearl mussel surveys and ecological assessment of major water and infrastructure projects.

What We’re Looking For

• Degree in Ecology, Environmental Science or a related discipline
