Job summary

Pfizer Ireland seeks a senior polymer and biocompatibility materials scientist to lead strategy for single-use systems, primary packaging, and polymer components across manufacturing. You will shape qualification plans, support regulatory submissions, and ensure compliant, scientifically defensible material choices.

You will collaborate with PharmSci, Quality, Regulatory Affairs, Procurement, and external partners, driving innovation while addressing chemicals of concern and sustainability.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in Polymer/Material Science or related engineering field.
• Minimum 6 years of R&D or materials experience in pharma components.
• Experience with polymer safety testing and regulatory guidelines is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead material science strategy for single-use systems and packaging.
• Provide guidance on material safety compliance and testing.
• Coordinate material characterization programs for new polymers.
• Translate standards/regulations into Pfizer processes.
• Collaborate across sites and with suppliers to resolve material challenges.
