Job summary

Designer Group is seeking an experienced Planning Manager to lead the planning function across a portfolio of high-value data centre projects. This senior role provides strategic planning direction, mentors planners, and ensures consistent planning standards across live projects and tenders.

The successful candidate acts as a trusted advisor to senior management, helping drive programme certainty, manage risk, and support delivery of major engineering projects.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Project Management or related discipline.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop a team of planners.
• Allocate planning resources across projects.
• Drive planning processes, templates and reporting standards.
• Develop and maintain detailed, resource-loaded programmes in Primavera P6 and MS Project.
• Ensure programmes align with budgets, milestones and strategies.
• Review and sign off project schedules for clients.
• Support tender and bid teams with planning input and strategy.
• Collaborate with directors, clients and main contractors to optimise build strategies.
