Job summary

Strata, an engineering-led consultancy, seeks a Planning Engineer to join its Digital PMO in Dublin. You will shape how complex projects are planned, tracked and delivered using modern data-driven tools and methods. This role blends engineering excellence with digital planning to drive Europe-wide construction success.

You will lead schedule development, manage risk, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure milestones are met and value delivered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level or higher in engineering or construction management.
• Minimum 7 years in construction with main contractor experience preferred.
• Proficient with Primavera P6 or MS Project and project controls.
• Analytical mindset with attention to detail and problem-solving.
• Excellent cross-disciplinary communication skills and collaboration.
• Willing to travel up to 50% across project locations.
• Eligible to work in the EU.

Responsibilities

• Develop, manage and maintain detailed master construction programmes aligned to project milestones.
• Provide detailed schedule development of Civils and MEP systems from first principles.
• Establish and operate robust project controls procedures to monitor progress and health.
• Produce and present progress reports for leadership and clients.
• Support method statements for safe, high-quality delivery.
• Create sequence sketches and diagrams to support site coordination.
• Collaborate with site, design, engineering and commercial teams to identify risks and opportunities.
• Implement progress measurement systems including earned value analysis and tracking.

We're looking for a Planning Engineer to join our Digital PMO. You'll play a key role in how complex, high-value projects are planned, tracked and delivered, combining strong technical understanding with modern, data-driven tools and methods.

What you'll do

• Develop, manage and maintain detailed master construction programmes aligned to project objectives and key milestones
• Provide detailed schedule development of Civils and MEP systems from first principles, in close consultation with construction, engineering and site delivery teams
• Establish and operate robust project controls procedures to monitor progress, performance, productivity and programme health
• Produce and present clear, accurate progress reports for internal leadership and client stakeholders
• Support preparation and review of method statements, contributing to safe, efficient and high-quality delivery
• Create and present detailed sequence sketches, phasing diagrams and storyboards to support site coordination
• Collaborate with site, design, engineering and commercial teams to gather information, identify programme risks and highlight opportunities
• Implement and maintain progress measurement systems including earned value analysis, quantities installed and tracking of critical systems
• Track procurement, off-site fabrication, modularisation and delivery interfaces, ensuring alignment with the construction programme
• Support change management, delay analysis and impact assessments, particularly within live or phased operational environments
• Proactively communicate risks, constraints and deviations to keep works on programme

What we're looking for

• Degree in Engineering or Construction Management
• 7+ years in construction; main contractor experience is an advantage
• Working knowledge of Primavera P6 or MS Project
• Process-driven and analytical, with strong attention to detail and a problem-solving mindset
• Strong communicator who works well across disciplines
• Proactive, autonomous and results-oriented
• Willingness to travel up to 50% across project locations
• Full right to work in the EU

Advantageous

• Experience working in a Digital PMO
• Data Centre sector experience or a strong interest in it
• Digital construction tools (PowerBI, 4D Synchro, QSRA)
• Understanding of MEP systems (electrical distribution, HVAC/CHW, life safety, controls and BMS/PMS)
• Familiarity with commissioning processes (IST, Level 1-5)
