Job summary

Allied Health/Nursing seeks a CORU-registered Senior Physiotherapist to cover a short-stay rehabilitation unit in Co. Galway. The role focuses on promoting patient independence and maximizing functional outcomes as patients transition from hospital to home.

Part-time 20–25 hours weekly, with multidisciplinary collaboration and discharge planning integral to care. The successful candidate will provide evidence-based physiotherapy for older adults, coordinate with hospital and community teams, and

Qualifications

CORU registration as Physiotherapist is essential.
Senior Physiotherapist experience is essential.
Experience in rehabilitation and/or care of older adults.
Strong clinical assessment, reasoning and rehab skills.
Experience with falls management and discharge planning.
Excellent communication and multidisciplinary teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive physiotherapy assessments and develop individualised rehabilitation plans.
Deliver interventions to improve mobility, strength, balance and independence.
Support falls prevention and falls management through education and intervention.
Assess mobility and functional ability to support safe discharge home.
Contribute to discharge planning and coordinate with the multidisciplinary team.
Liaise with hospitals, community services and other professionals to ensure continuity of care.
