Job summary

WSP is seeking a Senior Overhead Line Engineer to lead design and delivery of transmission projects across Ireland. You will provide technical leadership, mentor engineers, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop safe and efficient overhead line solutions.

You will contribute to major projects from 11 kV to 400 kV, including offshore, renewable connections, and grid upgrades, while growing WSP's overhead line capability in the region.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in Electrical/Power Engineering or related field.
• Demonstrable experience delivering overhead transmission projects up to 400 kV.
• Strong understanding of OHL design principles and route optimization.
• Experience with major transmission projects and renewable energy connections.

Responsibilities

• Lead overhead line design and delivery across projects from 11 kV to 400 kV.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring within multidisciplinary teams.
• Prepare reports, design docs, specs and proposals for project development.
• Conduct route development, structure spotting, clearance assessments and line optimization studies.
• Carry out sag-tension, blowout, swing angle and other technical analyses.
• Support feasibility studies and stakeholder engagement.
• Ensure designs comply with standards and client requirements.
