Job summary

RTÉ, Ireland's national public-service media organisation, seeks a Senior Streaming Infrastructure Engineer to join the Playout and Distribution team in Dublin. You will design, implement, and maintain OTT and digital media infrastructure.

The role requires 5+ years in OTT/streaming, Linux/networking expertise, scripting (Python/Java), and a track record in high-availability video delivery. This is a permanent, office-based position with occasional on-call responsibilities and a salary range of

Qualifications

5+ years in OTT, streaming, broadcast, or media tech environments.
Recognised Degree in Computer Science or Engineering.
Experience with scripting, automation, and programming languages such as Python, Java, or similar.
Evidence of programming ability and project contribution (Gitlab, SVN, etc).
Proven expertise in streaming technologies, broadcast systems, and digital media workflows.

Responsibilities

Design, implement, and maintain infrastructure for OTT and digital media systems.
Develop and optimize streaming technology solutions with cross-functional teams.
Contribute to scalable, high-performance video and audio streaming architectures.
Monitor and improve end-to-end video delivery performance and QoE.
Troubleshoot issues across streaming, broadcast, and IT systems.
Drive automation, efficiency, and continuous-improvement initiatives.
Evaluate emerging technologies to support innovation.
