Job summary

Taylor Hopkinson | Powered by Brunel seeks an Offshore Control Room Operations Engineer for a major offshore wind project in Ireland. The role focuses on building and maintaining control room policies, procedures, and operator training to ensure safe and efficient offshore operations.

You will manage signals, data flows and interfaces, define readiness criteria, and coordinate with developers, asset operators and SCADA/OT teams. Strong leadership and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Chartered Engineer status, a BEng degree and Safe Pass certification.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in power system operations.
• Experience with safety systems and offshore transmission assets desirable.
• Strong communication and leadership abilities.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain offshore control room policies, procedures, playbooks, operating instructions and training material.
• Support signal and data management for the control room and related systems.
• Define offshore control room readiness requirements, escalation paths and acceptance criteria.
• Lead engagement with developers and owners to ensure interfaces meet specifications.
• Support development of human-machine interface requirements and alarm standards for SCADA inputs.
• Establish signal interface and testing roadmaps to support project integration.
• Conduct operational design risk assessments to ensure resilience and safe operation.
• Support handover boundaries between control rooms and asset operators.
• Assist commissioning, energisation and handover with readiness reviews.
• Contribute to stage-gate reviews and stakeholder communications.
