Job summary

A leading health service provider in Limerick is seeking a Senior Occupational Therapist to join a Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) team. The role involves delivering assessments and interventions to support children with mental health needs and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team. Candidates should have a degree in Occupational Therapy, CORU registration, and a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience. Qualifications

Senior Occupational Therapist

We are currently recruiting a Senior Occupational Therapist to join a Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) team based in Rosbrien, Limerick. This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a well-established multidisciplinary team supporting children and adolescents with a range of mental health needs.

Key Responsibilities of the Senior Occupational Therapist
  • Deliver comprehensive occupational therapy assessments and interventions for children and young people within CAMHS
  • Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team including psychiatry, psychology, social work, nursing, and other allied health professionals
  • Develop, implement, and review individualised intervention plans
  • Support service users in areas such as emotional regulation, daily living skills, and social participation
  • Engage with families, carers, schools, and external agencies to ensure a holistic approach to care
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical documentation in line with professional standards
Requirements for the Senior Occupational Therapist
  • Degree or MSc in Occupational Therapy
  • CORU registration essential
  • Minimum of 3 years post-qualification experience, with relevant senior experience preferred
  • Experience working in mental health, ideally within CAMHS or with children and adolescents
  • Strong interpersonal, organisational, and communication skills
  • Full driver’s licence and access to own transport
Desirable
  • Experience delivering group interventions
  • Training in sensory integration or CBT-informed approaches
  • Previous experience within the HSE or similar setting
