Overview

If you are a Senior Occupational Therapist passionate about working with children who have complex needs, I would like to hear from you.

Medforce are seeking a Senior Occupational Therapist to join a friendly, dynamic, supportive Children Disability Network Team in Clonmel, Tipperary.

This is a full time, 35 hour week spread across Monday – Friday with excellent benefits including free onsite parking, incremental HSE pay-scale, generous annual leave entitlement and CPD opportunities.

The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality, family-centered care to children and young people with a range of disabilities, including physical, intellectual, and sensory needs.

Responsibilities

• Assessment and Intervention: Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop individualized intervention plans for children with diverse disabilities, focusing on enhancing their functional abilities and participation in daily activities.
• Collaboration: Work closely with a multidisciplinary team, including speech and language therapists, physiotherapists, psychologists, and social workers, to ensure a holistic approach to care.
• Family Support: Provide education, training, and support to families and caregivers, empowering them to facilitate their child’s development and participation in home and community settings.
• Leadership: Mentor and supervise junior occupational therapists and therapy assistants, providing guidance and fostering a collaborative learning environment.
• Program Development: Contribute to the development and implementation of innovative therapeutic programs and services that address the evolving needs of children with disabilities.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely documentation of assessments, treatment plans, and progress reports in accordance with professional and organizational standards.
• Continuous Professional Development: Stay abreast of the latest research and best practices in pediatric occupational therapy and apply this knowledge to improve service delivery.

Essential Criteria

• A BSc in Occupational Therapy or an equivalent CORU registered Occupational Therapy qualification.
• Be CORU registered.
• Full Clean Driving License with use of a car

• Is excited about working with a wide range of children: children with developmental coordination difficulties, sensory and behavioural difficulties, autism and children with severe physical and complex needs in both early years and school age.
