Job summary

RecruitNet International Ltd seeks an Assistant Director of Nursing for a premier Dublin nursing home. You will provide professional leadership to clinical and care teams, uphold HIQA standards, and work with the Director of Nursing to shape service delivery.

You must be an NMBI registered nurse with managerial experience in elder care, and a management qualification. The role is Monday–Friday with some flexibility, and offers CPD, training, parking, and pension benefits.

Qualifications

• NMBI Registered Nurse with managerial experience in elder care settings.
• Management qualification in health or related sector.
• Thorough understanding of HIQA standards, rules, and governance.
• Role is Monday to Friday, with some flexibility.
• Proven track record in management.
• Excellent leadership, organisation and communication abilities.
• Background in gerontology and/or dementia preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional leadership and oversight to maintain high levels of care.
• Provide effective clinical and professional leadership that exhibits beliefs and behaviours consistent with the Care Group ethos, and serve as a role model for all nursing home personnel.
• Provide line management and development for clinical nursing teams, care teams, and individuals as needed within the Care Group.
• Support care delivery by engaging patients and staff, providing clinical supervision, and holding oneself and others accountable for care delivery in nursing homes.
• Create unique techniques to advise and coach nursing/teams in developing and enhancing leadership skills in order to fulfil their roles and provide succession planning.
• When necessary, act in place of the Director of Nursing.
• Assist and be a catalyst in determining service needs and strategies in collaboration with the Director of Nursing and Management.
• Ensure that resources are used efficiently and appropriately.
