Job summary

Hero Recruitment Group is seeking a Senior NPD Engineer in Galway to provide technical leadership across development programs, owning engineering execution from feasibility through manufacturing transfer.

The ideal candidate has a mechanical/biomedical/polymer engineering background with 7+ years in medical device development, strong customer-facing project leadership, and familiarity with Design Control, ISO 13485, and FDA requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Biomedical, Polymer Engineering, or related discipline.
• Minimum 7 years' medical device product development experience.
• Experience leading development projects within Design Control and regulated environments.
• Proven customer-facing experience with technical discussion and project leadership.
• Knowledge of ISO 13485 and FDA requirements.
• Catheter-based or delivery system technology experience is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical execution of product development programs from feasibility through manufacturing transfer.
• Act as primary technical interface with customers, leading design reviews and problem-solving activities.
• Own technical strategy and engineering execution for assigned projects.
• Partner with Program Managers on planning, budgeting, and risk management.
• Drive development through verification, validation, design transfer, and commercialisation.
• Provide leadership, coaching, and technical guidance to engineers and technicians.
