We are looking for an experienced Senior Network Engineer to join our team, reporting to our Network Solutions Engineering Lead. This role will involve meeting client requirements in regards installations and upgrades of network equipment both remotely and in person at client sites throughout Ireland.

Due to client requirements, this role will require flexibility in regards hours of work, location and will require on-call rota availability.

What you’ll be doing as our Senior Network Engineer

• Network planning and design
• Installation and configuration of complex networks
• Designing security solutions based on Fortinet product portfolio
• Configuring complex firewall solutions and updating security systems to protect communications and data
• A go to person for Advanced Troubleshooting, other team members will be seeking help from a senior engineer who specializes in specific areas of networking
• Designing and implementing a disaster recovery process
• Maintaining present information and understanding networking and security best practices to provide the optimum protection and solutions for our client’s systems
• Creating and maintaining network documentation
• Supervising network implementations
• Working with Account Managers in providing technical presales to customers
• Contribute to delivering technical excellence with the IT team

What we’re looking for in our Senior Network Engineer

• Must have excellent knowledge in networking and security
• Must be familiar with tools like Iris, Wireshark, Visio
• Must have a deep understanding of dynamic routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, etc.)
• Candidate should have advanced knowledge of networking stack on various operating systems (Windows, Linux, VMware, Hyper-V, Chrome OS, Apple OS)
• Must have experience working with firewalls and understand advanced threat protection and how to implement it
• Should have experience in designing networks, firewall solutions and Wi-Fi solutions
• Ideal candidate should have good knowledge of HPE Aruba, Fortinet and Cisco product ranges
• Candidate should have good organizational skills
• Candidate should be flexible, open to work after normal working hours and be available to be on call
• This role requires collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders, with communication remotely and in person
• Ability to work both on own initiative and as part of team is crucial
• Driving Licence required to visit client premises
