Job summary

Jobgether is seeking a Senior ML Engineer for malware detection, working remotely from Ireland. You will design and deploy ML models on real malware data, exploring transformers and AI-assisted workflows to improve detection and reduce false positives.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of production ML experience in adversarial domains, cybersecurity preferred.
• Transformer model training/fine-tuning incl. LoRA/QLoRA; beyond API use.
• Classical ML knowledge with calibration and handling class imbalance.
• Rigorous evaluation with leakage-free time/malware family splits.
• Optimization for CPU/memory and cost; experience with ONNX, llama.cpp, vLLM.
• Strong Python, PyTorch, Hugging Face; SQL with ClickHouse.
• Proficiency in English (B2+) for technical docs and async collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deploy ML models to improve malware detection coverage and reduce false positives.
• Classify malware vs benign content and triage samples for detectors.
• Generate detection signatures from emerging campaigns to help analysts respond faster.
• Apply context-aware detection for phishing, webshells, and script injections.
• Improve detection accuracy and cleanup effectiveness across hosting fleets.
• Design robust evaluation frameworks and prevent data leakage before production.
• Optimize throughput, latency, and resource usage for scalable deployment.
• Move models from experimentation to production with shadow deployments.
• Incorporate analyst feedback and retraining cycles for evolving threats.
• Maintain reusable training pipelines and GPU resource management.
• Collaborate with analysts, engineers, and infra teams to translate findings.
• Document architecture, evaluation methods, and production results.
