Job summary

Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain third-party middleware platforms for enterprise products and services.
• Manage Redis, RabbitMQ, Citrix XenApp, Apache Tomcat, and Azure Service Bus environments.
• Troubleshoot and perform root-cause analysis for middleware, app, and infrastructure issues.
• Parse log files to identify errors, performance issues, configuration problems, and potential disruptions.
• Plan and apply patches and updates ensuring platform stability and availability.
• Handle server administration tasks across Windows Server and Linux Server.
• Support Citrix application delivery infrastructure and related admin activities.
• Ensure reliable middleware operations and address issues affecting dependent apps/services.
• Collaborate with technical teams to investigate incidents and implement solutions.
• Document configurations, troubleshooting findings, maintenance, and procedures as needed.

Job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Middleware Administrator based in Ireland.

You will oversee middleware technologies across messaging, caching, application delivery, and cloud integration environments.

You will help maintain reliable and secure application infrastructure while resolving technical issues across Windows and Linux environments.

Your expertise will span technologies such as Redis, RabbitMQ, Citrix XenApp, Apache Tomcat, and Azure Service Bus.

You will work independently to diagnose complex problems and keep essential middleware services operating effectively.

This is a senior technical role suited to an experienced administrator who enjoys working across diverse enterprise technologies.

Accountabilities

• Administer and maintain third-party applications and middleware platforms supporting enterprise products and services.
• Manage Redis, RabbitMQ, Citrix XenApp, Apache Tomcat, and Azure Service Bus environments.
• Perform troubleshooting and root-cause analysis for middleware, application, and infrastructure issues.
• Parse and analyze log files to identify errors, performance issues, configuration problems, and potential service disruptions.
• Plan and execute patches and updates for third-party products while supporting platform stability and availability.
• Perform designated server administration activities across Windows Server and Linux Server environments.
• Support Citrix application delivery infrastructure and related administration activities.
• Maintain reliable middleware operations and respond to technical issues affecting dependent applications and services.
• Collaborate with relevant technical teams to investigate incidents, implement solutions, and maintain operational continuity.
• Document configurations, troubleshooting findings, maintenance activities, and operational procedures as needed.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience managing and administering third-party enterprise products or applications.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to diagnose complex technical issues methodically.
• Strong English fluency, both written and verbal.
• Hands-on experience administering Redis.
• Hands-on experience administering RabbitMQ.
• Experience with Citrix XenApp administration.
• Experience administering Apache Tomcat.
• Strong Windows Server administration skills.
• Strong Linux Server administration skills.
• Experience administering Azure Service Bus.
• Citrix PVS patching experience is preferred.
• PowerShell scripting experience is a plus.
• WordPress administration or experience managing LAMP stacks is advantageous.
• IIS administration experience is preferred.
• Experience with the Elastic Stack and report development is a plus.
• Familiarity with JScape or other SFTP solutions is beneficial.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize technical issues, and communicate effectively with technical stakeholders.
